Air compressor piping installation points of attention
If the air consumption of the system is large and short, and the instantaneous air consumption varies greatly, then a storage tank should be installed as a buffer (its capacity should be greater than or equal to 20% of the maximum instantaneous consumption of air), which can reduce air consumption. The frequency of frequent loading or unloading of the compressor unit reduces the number of control element actions, which is of great benefit in maintaining the operational reliability of the air compressor. Typically, an air storage tank with a capacity of 20% of the displacement can be selected.
Precautions for compressed air piping installation
For compressed air with a system pressure of less than 1.5MPa, the flow rate in the delivery pipe must be less than 15m/sec to avoid excessive pressure drop.
Minimize the use of elbows and various valves in compressed air piping to reduce pressure loss.
The ideal compressed air piping system is one in which the main line runs around the entire facility so that both sides of the compressed air can be obtained at any location. For example, the pressure drop can be reduced when there is a sudden increase in gas consumption in a branch line. In addition, appropriate valves are provided on the looped main line to facilitate maintenance and shutoff.
When piping the main line, the inclination of the pipe must be 1° to 2° to facilitate the discharge of condensate from the pipe.
